White Boots

The white boots seem to be a fashion requirement for rain duty. They only are worn on PTGs wearing the rainwear outfit, as far as I can tell.

In this pic, white boots no rain poncho - but is that a rain poncho on the ground? She was expecting rain, maybe?

Rain during the summer months is very common in Korea ( North and South), so you'll see the rain ponchos over the white coats just as much as you will over the blue coats.

Here's a couple more, wet pavement evidence of recent rain.




In every picture I searched through, all the rain PTGs were wearing white boots. I could not find a PTG in white boots otherwise. Which leads me to wonder.....if they are directing traffic on a sunny day and a rainstorm suddenly pops up, is it mandatory to go change into white boots?

Since they rotate shift every 30 minutes, a white-booted TG would probably be at the ready if it looks like rain.

It looks like they stepped in a bucket of white paint.

The white boots provide more visibility in bad weather, plus protect their delicate pinkies from getting wet, IMO.
