For most of the day — when the stream is available*— it relays standard color bars but these switch to the KCTV testcard at around 16:30 Pyongyang time.
You can currently find the feed here: http: // 112.170.78.145:50000/chosun (currently offline) Try clicking on it, but it’s best and easiest viewed in VLC Media Player. Choose “Open network stream,” paste that address in and it should appear if available.

(Update: August 2014) - The direct link ( mms // 112.170.78.145/chosun ) to the KCTV live stream is not working again - this has happened before, being offline for months and it has returned, so keep checking. (Found new direct link - see link at bottom of post. )

The live stream webpage ( www dprkfriendship.com.mx/on-air/ ) is still offline.

When / if it comes back online, this post will be updated.

Use one of the still working Elufa links below, although they periodically interrupt the stream to play ads.

Thanks to our friends who found new information mentioned in following posts,  the new direct link to the KCTV stream is:

Don't know - even the KFA site stream is not working. I guess just use the one of the elufa links for now. The direct live stream link has previously gone offline for months and then come back, so keep checking. If I find any other sources I will post them.

Gah! seems like every link enabling us to watch KCTV is dead the one Phil posted looked promising, but none of the links on the right work.

all the Ustream ones have given up too KCTV Only broadcasts the news then stops broadcasting.

(Korea-TV, also on Ustream was excellent..but alas, they have stopped now too).

so..where do we go from here?

Thanks for keeping us updated about the links.

Unfortunately, my computer has been messed up for a while and my flash won't download so I can't see if those links work or not. I've been working on it, the MS techs say I may have to do an OS reinstall. Ugh.

If past history is any indication, the streams may start working again at some point - they are known to be offline for months and then come back online eventually.

OK thanks for the info.  I went to that link you posted,  http://sptv.co.kr/ , and as you say the 2nd link down ( 평양방송 ) appears to be streaming KCTV.

I looked at the source and the new direct link for the KCTV stream is  mms://121.167.43.161/chosun
It's just showing color bars now (5pm EST, or 2200GMT), as would be expected between the broadcast day schedules.

I would be very cautious with that "http://sptv.co.kr/" link as I got several warnings that the site is not safe from multiple extensions.
Google Chrome flagged it as Malware and Netcraft gave it a 7/10 risk rating.

I checked it with IE and they have no reported problems. I checked with Norton, same thing.
Google Chrome does have a warning, but checking with Google Safe Browsing Diagnostic give this message:
"Some pages on this website send visitors to the following dangerous websites: 61.209.205.0. "

but when Google then analyzes the link it says is dangerous, it says it is not dangerous:

I have never had a problem with SPTV, it's been around for a long time, but I suppose better safe than sorry.

I have a question.....

Will there be an HD or high quality stream of KCTV anytime soon? The channel has an HD feed since 2015 (There are 2 video recordings of this, the only thing that is widescreen is the News Anchor and some other stuff but the quality is visibly higher) and the live links are of 260p or 360p VHS quality, and the Ustream channels only show the news and some stuff.

And what channel is this? All of the stuff is in English and seems to be playing mostly documentaries.

None of the live stream ip address links work. Do you have any others? It seems that one may be permanently​ shut down. In vlc player I tried http mms mmsh and rtsp, and none worked.
